Growing up with a large family (I am one of nine kids!), I didn’t think much about nutritious food. My mom did what she could to get meals on the table. I’m sure it was whatever was easy, fast, and affordable.

Flash forward a few years (okay…many years) now I am a married mother of three beautiful girls. My main goal as a mom, was to ensure I was providing my family with healthy meals. These meals still had to be easy, fast and affordable - I didn’t have time to cook for hours in the kitchen, the girls were involved in so many activities that we were always on the run. It would have been much easier for us to hit a drive-thru for dinner but I’m a true believer that if you eat crap…you feel like crap!

So many of my friends complained about not feeling well, having low energy and even experiencing digestive issues. I quickly realized how important nutrition is to staying healthy and feeling good! After my last daughter was born, I struggled with losing that stubborn baby weight so eating healthy and working out became my passion! I got certified to be a personal trainer and began teaching group fitness classes at a local gym and volunteering my time to condition young athletes. Although this work was satisfying, I was looking to further my education in health and wellness.

In 2016, I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. This education has taught me eating right is only one aspect of good health – you can eat all the kale in the world and it won’t solve all your issues! Other aspects of your life such as relationships, your career, and your spirituality have a huge effect on your total well-being.
